I have samsung galaxy young. Everyone talk about upgrade their
android. How can i do that? Doing something like flashing custom rom to
my android makes me worried about the risk. The easiest and savest (i
think) is... upgrade the official samsung rom.
Update Steps
1. check your android version
go to settings -> about phone then check your android, baseband version and build number. it's android 2.3.5 for me.
2. prepare samsung account to access software update
you
need a samsung account to check for update. if you already have it then
log in using your samsung account or make a new one if you don't.
3. check for available update
this
will connecting your phone to server so make sure you're ready with
internet connection. better to use a free or prepaid wireless because
it'll cost a lot if you use 3g or gprs connection. the upgrade i
downloaded so far has max size about 13 MB each package.
4. download available update
make sure that you have the phone storage space needed for download.
5. install update
this
will reboot your galaxy and install update. after install and boot
process finish you will noticed about the new version installed.
congratulations!
6. check again your android, baseband version and build number
after a few download-install-reboot now my galaxy young updated to android 2.3.6, baseband S5360DXLC1, build gingerbread.DXLC1
